Today God says:
"You are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus".
He promises me:
"And such were some of you, but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God". (1 Cor. 6:11)
My response to the word:
The word 'justified' literally means 'just as if I'd never sinned'. This is amazing news to me. Even though I was a sinner, I've been justified, and God my heavenly Father, sees me as His perfected child. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ I've been washed, sanctified, and justified. Praise the name of Jesus!
My prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for justifying me in the name of the Lord Jesus, by your Spirit. Indeed, I know you have set me free from the law of sin and death.
Today's scriptures:
"Jesus, our Lord, was handed over to death because of our failures and was brought back to life so that we could receive God's approval". (Rom 4:25 GW) "Now that we have God's approval because of faith, we have peace with God because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done". (Rom. 5:1 GW) "He also called those whom He has already appointed. He approved of those whom He has called, and He gave glory to those whom He has approved of". (Rom 8:30 GW)
Quote for today:
There is as much joy in the heart of God when He forgives, as there is in the heart of the sinner when he is forgiven. God is as blessed in giving as we are in receiving. (Charles Spurgeon)
On this day:

Bramwell Booth heard his father and said, "Volunteer! I'm no volunteer, I'm a regular!" Railton was instructed to cross out the word "volunteer" and substitute the word "salvation".
