<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "My Word will help you grow"

He promises me:
  "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby". (1 Peter 2:2)

My response to the word:
  I desire the sweet milk of God's Word because I know it will help me to grow spiritually. God's Word is more powerful than any two-edged sword: "For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two-edge sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and sprit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart".

My prayer:
  Dear Lord, thank you for your Word which is the sword of the Spirit. The power of your Word will nourish me and help me grow spiritually throughout this day.

Today's scriptures:
 "Also take salvation as your helmet and the Word of God as the sword that the Spirit supplies". (Eph. 6:17 GW) "God's Word is living and active". (Hebr. 4:12 GW) "You have been born again, not from a seed that can be destroyed, but through God's everlasting Word that can't be destroyed". (1 Peter 1:23 GW)

Quote for today:
You can be perfectly free to go to your Bible with assurance that you will find Jesus Christ everywhere in its pages. (A W Tozer)

On this day:
On 5th September 1997, Mother Teresa died in Calcutta, India. Born of Albanian parents and brought up in Yugoslavia, she heard God's call to become a nun. In Calcutta she and her Missionaries of Charity cared for the poor, the sick and the dying, bringing love and dignity into their lives.
