<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Whatever you pray for, believing, you shall receive".

He promises me:
  "And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive". (Matt. 21:22)

My response to the word:
  Believing prayer is true prayer. God says, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him". Throughout this day I will pray in faith, because I know that God answers prayers of faith.

My prayer:
  Lord, by faith I receive all that you have for me. I know you love me and want to bless me. Thank you for promising to answer my prayers of faith.

Today's scriptures:
 "Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him". (Matt. 6:8 GW) "I have appointed you to go, to produce fruit that will last, and to ask the Father in my name to give you whatever you ask for". (John 15:16 GW) "No one can please God without faith". (Hebr. 11:6 GW)

Quote for today:
Prayer is asking for rain. Faith is carrying the umbrella. (Anon)

On this day:
On 5th October 1703, Jonathan Edwards was born in East Windsor, Connecticut. He "is widely acknowledged to be America's most important and original theologian," Edwards delivered the sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God", a classic of early American literature, during the revival in 1741.
On 5th October 1814, Thomas Charles died at Bala, Wales at the age of 58 years. Born in Carmarthen in 1755 he entered the Church of England ministy and served in churches in Somerset. His keen evangelical message made him unacceptable in many places and in 1784 he returned to Wales and joined the Methodist Church. He produced a catechism and Bible dictionary in Welsh and contributed to the founding of the British and Foreigh Bible Society. He promoted the reading of the Bible in Welsh in many villages.
