<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I am your friend; I am closer to you than a brother".

He promises me:
  "A man that has friends must show himself friendly; there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother". (Prov. 18:24)

My response to the word:
  God is my personal friend, and throughout this day I will seek to develop an intimate relationship with Him. He truly does stick closer than a brother to me. He is the greater One who lives in me. Friendships will last when they are cultivated and nurtured with a lot of careful attention, and I will always endeavour to cultivate a close personal relationship with my Lord.

My prayer:
  Thank you, Father, for loving me. Thank you for wanting to be my friend. I will walk in the comfort of your friendship throughout this day.

Today's scriptures:
 "I don't call you servants anymore, because a servant doesn't know what his master is doing. But I've called you friends because I've made known to you everything that I've heard from my Father". (John 15:15 GW) "Whoever wants to be a friend of this world is an enemy of God". (James 4:4 GW) "So you have won the victory over these people, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world". (1 John 4:4 GW)

Quote for today:
As you walk through the valley of the unknown, you will find the footprints of Jesus both in front of you and beside you. (Charles Stanley)
