<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I am the Light of the world".

He promises me:
  "You are the light of the world … Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven". (Matt. 5:14-16)

My response to the word:
  Jesus is the Light of the world, and He says that I am the light of the world as well. He wants me to let my light shine in this world of darkness by doing good works so that others will glorify my heavenly Father. I will let the light of Jesus Christ shine through my life throughout this day by doing good works in His name. I will walk continually in the light of God's Word and in the sunlight of God's love.

My prayer:
  Father of lights, with whom there is no change, I thank you for translating me from this world of darkness into your marvellous light. Thank you for your Word which gives me light. I will walk in your light throughout this day.

Today's scriptures:
 "Your Word is a doorway that lets in light, and it helps gullible people understand". (Ps. 119:130 GW) "The real light, which shines on everyone, was coming into the world". (John 1:9 GW) "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will have a life filled with light and will never live in the dark". (John 8:12 GW) "You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God". (1 Peter 2:9 GW)

Quote for today:
We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining - they just shine. (D L Moody)
