Today God says:
"My joy is your strength".
He promises me:
"The joy of the Lord is your strength". (Neh. 8:10)
My response to the word:
I will walk in the Lord's joy throughout this day, because I know this is a key to spiritual strength in my life. His joy is not based on circumstances; it is based on truth. I agree with Joseph Marmion who wrote, "Joy is the echo of God's life within us". I believe the Word which tells me that joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit that dwells within me.
My prayer:
Lord, thank you for the wonderful joy you impart to me through your Word and your Spirit. I will let your joy strengthen me for each challenge that comes my way. I will continually rejoice in you, Lord, for you are my joy.
Today's scriptures:
"I have told you this so that you will be as joyful as I am, and your joy will be complete". (John 15:11 GW) "After all, it is through Christ that we now have this restored relationship with God". (Rom. 5:11 GW) "Although you have never seen Christ, you love Him. You don't see Him now, but you believe in Him". (1 Peter 1:8 GW)
Quote for today:
Seek to cultivate a buoyant, joyous sense of the crowded kindnesses of God in your daily life. (Alexander MacLaren)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
