Today God says:
"I know what you need before you ask Me".
He promises me:
"Your Father knows what things you have need of before you ask Him". (Matt. 6:8)
My response to the word:
God knows everything about me. He knows the number of hairs on my head. He knows my thoughts. He knows my heart. Even so, He wants me to pray, to seek His face, to petition him for the things I need. Throughout this day I will remember that God never tires of hearing me pray.
My prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for the power of prayer. I will spend more time in prayer today.
Today's scriptures:
"Ask and you will receive. Search and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened for you". (Matt. 7:7 GW) "My God will richly fill your every need in a glorious way through Christ Jesus". (Phil. 4:19 GW) "So we can go confidently to the throne of God's kindness to receive mercy and find kindness". (Hebr. 4:16 GW)
Quote for today:
If there are any tears shed in heaven, they will be over the fact that we prayed so little. Heaven is full of answers to prayer for which no one ever bothered to ask. (Billy Graham)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".

On 2nd October 1706, a new commentary on the Bible appeared, written by Matthew Henry. It was 2000 pages long with 3 million words - and way before computers or word processors. He wanted his book "to make the reading of Scripture more easy, pleasant and profitable". It is still in print today.
