<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I will keep you by My power".

He promises me:
  "Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time". (1 Peter 1:5)

My response to the word:
  God's power is able to keep me through faith. This knowledge gives me a sense of deep and lasting security. Paul wrote, "But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil". Because I know God is keeping me, I will keep on keeping on.

My prayer:
  Father, thank you for your keeping power in my life. I place my life securely in your hands.

Today's scriptures:
 "The Lord is your guardian. The Lord is the shade over your right hand". (Ps. 121:5 GW) "Righteousness protects the honest way of life, but wickedness ruins a sacrifice for sin". (Prov. 13:6 GW) "But the Lord is faithful and will strengthen you and protect you against the evil one". (2 Thess. 3:3 GW)

Each individual has his special function. (Demos Shakarian)

On this day:
On 12th November 1615, Richard Baxter was born at Rowton, Salop, England. Disgusted by the frivolity of the court to which he was early introduced, he returned home to study on his own. He became a nonconformist and preached to Parliament's armies although he disliked Oliver Cromwell's views. After retiring from the armies, he wrote his most famous book, "The Saints' Everlasting Rest". Offered the vacant position of Bishop of Hereford, he refused it and consequently endured persecution at the hands of Judge Jeffries. Pious, moderate and hard-working, he issued over 200 writings, plus hymns and an autobiography.
