Today God says:
"The hope I give you is an anchor for your soul".
He promises me:
"Who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us; which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters into that within the veil". (Heb. 6:18)
My response to the word:
God gives me hope. It is the anchor of my soul during the storms of life. Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible. Hope is faith holding out its hand in the dark. Hope is the anchor of the soul, the stimulus to action, and the incentive to achievement. I will walk in hope throughout this day.
My prayer:
Lord, thank you for giving me hope that eagerly expects good things from you. The hope you impart to me keeps me steadfast in times of stress.
Today's scriptures:
"The hope of righteous people leads to joy, but the eager waiting of wicked people comes to nothing". (Prov. 10:28 GW) "The Lord is my lot in life. That is why I hope in Him". (Lam. 3:24 GW) "We're not ashamed to have this confidence, because God's love has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us". (Rom. 5:5 GW) "May God, the source of hope, fill you with joy and peace through your faith in Him". (Rom. 15:13 GW)
Quote for today:
The word 'hope' in Scripture is a term of certainty. To say that we hope for the return of the Lord is not to say that we are uncertain about His coming. His coming for His own is certain. (George Sweeting)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
