Today God says:
"My promises never fail".
He promises me:
"Blessed be the Lord, that has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised: there has not failed one word of all His good promises". (1 Kings 8:56)
My response to the word:
I totally depend on God's promises. I stand upon them, walk upon them, believe them, trust them, and live them. They form the most solid foundations possible. They assure me of this continuing truth: "If God be for us, who can be against us?" I will walk according to God's promises throughout this day.
My prayer:
Lord, thank you for your promises which are a sure foundation on which I build my life. As I meditate upon your promises I realize how truly blessed I am.
Today's scriptures:
"If God is for us, who can be against us? God didn't spare His own Son but handed Him over to death for all of us. So He will also give us everything along with Him". (Rom. 8:31,32 GW) "Certainly, Christ made God's promises come true". ( 2 Cor. 1:20 GW) "We have been born into a new life which has an inheritance that can't be destroyed of corrupted and can't fade away". (1 Peter 1:4 GW)
Quote for today:
For what is faith unless it is to believe what you cannot see? (Augustine)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".

On 28th November 1628, John Bunyan was born in Elstow, Bedfordshire. After a rebellious youth, his new faith led him to start preaching in 1655. He also started writing and in 1660 was first arrested for public preaching. It was during his time in Bedford Gaol that he conceived the idea for his book The Pilgrim's Progress. It was published in two parts in 1678 and 1684. Though he became a non-conformist and member of an Independent church, he himself preferred to be described simply as a Christian.
