Today God says:
"I want you to enter into My rest".
He promises me:
"There remains therefore a rest to the people of God". (Heb. 4:9)
My response to the word:
God wants me to enter into His rest, but there are three things that will keep me out of it: disobedience, hardness of heart, and unbelief. Therefore, I will be careful to walk in obedience, faith, and openness before the Lord throughout this day. The Word of God declares, "Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing shall offend them".
My prayer:
Lord God, thank you for the rest you have given to me. I will trust you, believe your promises, and remain open to all you have for me throughout this day.
Today's scriptures:
"There is lasting peace for those who love your teachings. Nothing can make these people stumble". (Ps. 119:165 GW) "Therefore, a time of rest and worship exists for God's people. Those who entered His place of rest also rested from their work as God did from His, so we must make every effort to enter that place of rest". (Heb. 4:9-11 GW)
Quote for today:
Whenever anything begins to disintegrate your life with Jesus Christ, turn to Him at once, asking Him to re-establish your rest. (Oswald Chambers)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
