Today God says:
"I am with you".
He promises me:
"Fear not, for I am with you: be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness". (Isa. 41:10)
My response to the word:
The knowledge that God is ever-present with me takes away all fear and anxiety from my life. His promise to strengthen me and help me fills me with confidence. Therefore, I will not fear either today or tomorrow because I know God is already there. In fact, He is the God who is always with me.
My prayer:
Lord, thank you for being my ever-present strength. Thank you for upholding me with your righteousness.
Today's scriptures:
"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble". (Ps. 46:1 GW) "Where can I go to get away from your Spirit? Where can I run to get away from you?". (Ps. 139:7 GW) "Who is our hope, joy, or prize that we can brag about in the presence of our Lord Jesus when He comes? Isn't it you? You are our glory and joy! (1 Thess. 2:19,20 GW)
Quote for today:
The knowledge that we are not alone calms the troubled sea of our lives and speaks peace to our soul. (A W Tozer)
On this day:

On 2nd December 1848, Mary Slessor was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. Reared in a very poor home, and working long hours in a dreary factory, she received little formal education, but on hearing of the death of David Livingstone, she was challenged to go to Africa, At 27 she left her homeland and settled in Calabar, Nigeria, where she literally poured out her life for the people she loved. She succeeded in ending many abuses such as the killing of twins, killing wives when their husbands died, human sacrifice, trial by ordeal and the like. Those who followed her found a vital Christian influence in Nigeria. She died in Nigeria in 1915.
