Today God says:
"When you offer praise, you glorify Me".
He promises me:
"Whoso offers praise glorifies Me; and to him that orders his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God". (Ps. 50:23)
My response to the word:
Praising God is both practical and spiritual. It changes my focus away from the things of earth to the far-more-excellent things of heaven. It gives me emotional release. It cultivates the attitude of gratitude in my heart. It lifts me out of myself and above my problems. More importantly, however, it glorifies my God.
My prayer:
Lord God, I praise you, thank you, worship you, and adore you. You are everything to me. Throughout this day I want to glorify you in every possible way.
Today's scriptures:
"Let everything that breathes praise the Lord". (Ps. 150:6 GW) "Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! He has rescued the lives of needy people from the power of wicked people". (Jer. 20:13 GW) "Praise our God, all who serve and fear Him, no matter who you are ". (Rev. 19:5 GW)
Quote for today:
It is easy to sing when we can read the notes by daylight; but he is skilful who sings in the dark; who sings from his heart. (Charles Spurgeon)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
