<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "By finding Me you have found life, and I give you My favour".

He promises me:
  "For whoever finds Me finds life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord". (Prov. 8:35)

My response to the word:
  Before I knew the Lord, I walked in death, not life. It was as though I was dead while alive. Now I am fully alive, and there is no death or darkness within me at all. This is the Lord's favour at work in my life. Heaven has already begun its work in me. I am a citizen of the Kingdom of God, an emissary to this world of darkness. I will let my light shine in the darkness today.

My prayer:
  Lord, thank you for abundant and eternal life. Thank you for blessing me with your favour. I will serve you throughout this day.

Today's scriptures:
 "He was the source of life, and that life was the light for humanity". (John 1:4 GW) "I came so that My sheep will have life and so that they will have everything they need". (John 10:10 GW) "When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with Him in glory". (Col. 3:3 GW)

Quote for today:
There is a God-shaped vacuum in every heart. (Blaise Pascal)

On this day:
On 27th December 1714, George Whitefield was born in Gloucester, England. He was "one of the most remarkable evangelists that ever lived". In 34 years he preached over 18,000 formal sermons and visited America on seven occasions.
On 27th December 1822, Louis Pasteur was born in France. He made many discoveries in the field of physics and chemistry. Pasteurisation of milk was one result of his experiments. He had a deep faith in God which characterised his whole life. He died in France in 1895 at age 72 years.
