Today God says:
"You are the temple of the Holy Spirit".
He promises me:
"What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own?". (1 Cor. 6:19)
My response to the word:
The indwelling life of the Spirit of God is my wellspring of power, love, and victory. I will be filled with God's Spirit, led by God's Spirit, and walk in the Spirit throughout this day, because I know this will lead to fruitfulness in my life. I will remember that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.
My prayer:
Thank you for the power of the Holy Spirit in my life, Father. He is my Teacher, Guide, Comforter, and life.
Today's scriptures:
"Certainly, all who are guided by God's Spirit are God's children". (Rom. 8:14 GW) "Don't get drunk on wine, which leads to wild living. Instead, be filled with the Spirit". (Eph. 5:18 GW) "Live your life as your spiritual nature directs you. Then you will never follow through on what your corrupt nature wants". (Gal. 5:16 GW) "The One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world". (1 John 4:4 GW)
Quote for today:
It is impossible for that man to despair who remembers that his Helper is omnipotent. (Jeremy Taylor)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".

On 28th December 1797, Charles Hodge was born in Philadelphia. He graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary at 21, and the next year began teaching there. A year after that he was ordained to the Presbyterian ministry. In his whole career he took out only two years from his professorship at Princeton to study in Paris, Halle, and Berlin. His greatest exegetical work, Commentary on Romans, was published in 1835; and between 1871-73 he published his three-volume, 2,260 page Systematic Theology. When he died on June 19, 1878, his son Archibald succeeded him at Princeton.
