<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "My Kingdom consists of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit"

He promises me:
  "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit". (Rom. 14:17)

My response to the word:
  God has translated me into the Kingdom of His dear Son. I believe God's Word, and I claim the promise of righteousness, peace, and joy through the Holy Spirit as my inheritance as a child of God. God's Kingdom is found wherever the King of kings rules. He sits on His throne in heaven, and also on His throne within my heart. This fact enables me to appropriate His righteousness, peace, and joy for this day.

My prayer:
  Father, I thank you for your kingdom in which I find righteousness, peace and joy. Fill me with your Spirit as I walk in your righteousness, peace, and joy today.

Today's scriptures:
 "You see, the kingdom of God is within you". (Luke 17:21 GW) "My kingdom doesn't belong to this world. My kingdom doesn't have its origin on earth". (John 18:36 GW) "God's kingdom is not just talk, it is power". (1 Cor. 4:20 GW) "God has rescued us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of His Son, whom He loves". (Col. 1:13 GW)

Quote for today:
What we love we shall grow to resemble. (Bernard of Clairvaux)

On this day:
On 16th September 1906, John Bertram Phillips was born in Barnes, Surrey. He was ordained an Anglican clergyman in the Church of England in 1930. He became vicar at Redhill, Surrey in the 1940s, working with young people. Many had difficulty understanding the King James Bible and as a result he translated the New Testament into current language for their use. His Letters to Young Churches was published in 1947, and the remainder of the New Testament in the following years. The J B Phillips translation was a best-seller in its time, and is still available today. He died in 1982 in Swanage, Dorset at the age of 75 years.
