<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I will make your feet like hinds feet".

He promises me:
  "The Lord God is my strength, and He will make my feet like hinds' feet, and He will make me walk upon high places". (Hab. 3:19)

My response to the word:
  The hind (a young deer) is a sure-footed animal that is able to walk along narrow rock ledges and other difficult spots without fear. God promises to make my feet like those of the hind, and He gives me the confidence to do so. Therefore, I will not cast away my confidence throughout this day.

My prayer:
  Lord, thank you for being my strength. Help me to be sure-footed wherever I go today.

Today's scriptures:
 "He will strengthen you to be holy. Then you will be blameless in the presence of our God and Father". (1 Thess. 3:13 GW) "May He encourage and strengthen you to do and say everything that is good". (2 Thess. 2:17 GW) "But the Lord is faithful and will strengthen you and protect you against the evil one". (2 Thess. 3:3 GW) "So don't lose your confidence. It will bring you a great reward". (Heb. 10:35 GW)

Quote for today:
We are called to be God's transmitters, to be completely separated from all thoughts which are contrary to His thinking, so that we may transmit His thoughts to others. (Hannah Hurnard)

On this day:
On 16th December 1867, Amy Carmichael was born in Millisle, Ireland. Driven by love, she went to India, where she served for 55 years without a furlough. She was the first missionary supported by Keswick Missions Committee. She published 35 books. She founded the Dohnavur Fellowship which cared for more than a thousand children and set up a hospital. In 1931 a very bad fall left her bedridden for much of the time until her death in 1951
