<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "You are the apple of My eye".

He promises me:
  "Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of your wings". (Ps. 17:8)

My response to the word:
  God is keeping me as the apple of His eye, and He is hiding me under the shadow of His wings. "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust". He will cover me with His feathers, and under His wings I will trust. His truth will be my shield and buckler.

My prayer:
  Lord, thank you for protecting me and defending me from all harm. I will stay in the safe place you have provided for me, beneath the shadow of your wings, within the shelter of your presence.

Today's scriptures:
 "My lips will praise you because your mercy is better than life itself". (Ps. 63:3 GW) "I will say to the Lord, 'You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust". (Ps. 91:2 GW) "He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge. His truth is your shield and armour". (Ps. 91:4 GW)

Quote for today:
The higher a man is in grace, the lower he will be in his own esteem. (Charles Spurgeon)

On this day:
On 1st February 1909, George Beverly Shea, featured soloist with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Team, was born in North Dundas, Camada. He probably sang the Gospel to more people than anyone else in the world. The name Beverly was a common name for boys in Canada and England; he was named after Dr. Beverly Carrardine, a famous Methodist preacher and author who often visited the Shea home. He died on 16 April 2013 at Montreat, North Carolina at age 104 years.
