Today God says:
"Love your enemies".
He promises me:
"Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you: that you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven. (Matt. 5:44,45)
My response to the word:
Throughout this day I will obey my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, by loving my enemies, blessing those who curse me, doing good to those who hate me, and praying for those who despitefully use me and persecute me. This is the lifestyle of a child of God. It is my choice to respond in positive ways when others oppose me. This is my commitment to my Father in heaven.
My prayer:
Lord, your Word tells me that I can expect persecution in this world. Help me to be your faithful witness in times of tribulation and persecution by responding in your way at all times.
Today's scriptures:
"Love your enemies. Be kind to those who hate you". (Luke 6:27 GW) "I've told you this so that my peace will be with you. In the world you'll have trouble. But cheer up! I have overcome the world". (John 16:33 GW) "Christ must rule until God has put every enemy under His control". (1 Cor. 15:25 GW)
Quote for today:
The measure of a great person is how they treat another person who can be of no possible use to them. (Unknown)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
