Today God says:
"Commit your works to Me".
He promises me:
"Commit your works unto the Lord, and your thoughts shall be established". (Prov. 16:3)
My response to the word:
I want my thoughts to be established throughout this day. I do not want to be double-minded or inconsistent in any way. I want to serve the Lord in single-minded devotion. He has shown me how to find such consistency and constancy in my thoughts - by committing my works to Him. This I will do each step of the way.
My prayer:
Loving Lord, I commit my way and my works to you. Whatever I do this day, I will do as unto you. In so doing, I know you will establish my thoughts, and you will keep my mind from wavering so that I will be a fruitful believer. Thank you, Father.
Today's scriptures:
"Entrust your ways to the Lord. Trust Him, and He will act on your behalf". (Ps. 37:5 GW) "Trust the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths smooth". (Prov. 3:5,6 GW) "Brothers and sisters, because of God's compassion toward us, I encourage you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, dedicated to God and pleasing to Him. This kind of worship is appropriate for you". (Rom. 12:1 GW)
Quote for today:
There is a canyon of difference between doing your best to glorify God and doing whatever it takes to glorify yourself. The quest for excellence is a mark of maturity. The quest for power is childish. (Max Lucado)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
