Today God says:
"You shall receive the reward of your inheritance".
He promises me:
"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Christ". (Col. 3:23,24)
My response to the word:
I face many responsibilities throughout this day. I will remember that a good definition of 'responsibility' is 'my response to God's ability'. I will approach everything I do today with the idea that I am doing it unto God and for God. He promises me that I will receive a wonderful inheritance from His hands if I will be sure to serve the Lord Christ at all times.
My prayer:
Lord, I will serve you with all my heart and soul throughout this day. I am happy in your service. I will approach each task and responsibility with the intention of serving you. I ask only for your help as I serve you. Thank you for your promise of an inheritance. Thank you that I am your child and therefore your heir. What a marvellous inheritance is mine.
Today's scriptures:
"God also decided ahead of time to choose us through Christ according to His plan, which makes everything work the way He intends". (Eph. 1:11 GW) "This Holy Spirit is the guarantee that we will receive our inheritance. We have this guarantee until we are set free to belong to Him. God receives praise and glory for this". (Eph. 1:14 GW) "We have been born into a new life which has an inheritance that can't be destroyed or corrupted and can't fade away". (1 Peter 1:4 GW)
Quote for today:
The future is as bright as the promises of God. (William Carey)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
