<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "You will do great things; you will prevail".

He promises me:
  "Then Saul said to David, 'Blessed be you, my son David; you shall both do great things, and also shall prevail". (1 Sam. 26:25)

My response to the word:
  Though this promise was delivered to David by Saul, I know it applies to me also, because so many places in the Word declare that I will be an overcomer in life. I claim those promises for myself this day, because I know I am greatly blessed in every way. God gives me the strength to prevail in every situation.

My prayer:
  Father in heaven, thank you for the multitude of your promises which assure me that you will strengthen me in every situation. Because of your power I am a winner! You always give me the victory through my Lord Jesus Christ. I love you, Lord.

Today's scriptures:
 "Those who believe in Me will do the things that I am doing. They will do even greater things because I am going to the Father". (John 14:12 GW) "The One who loves us gives us an overwhelming victory in all these difficulties". (Rom. 8:37 GW) "Thank God that He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ". (1 Cor. 15:57 GW) "Everyone who has been born from God has won the victory over the world". (1 John 5:4 GW)

Quote for today:
The sweetest lesson I have learned in God's school is to let the Lord choose for me. (D L Moody)

On this day:
On 27th February 1838, William J. Kirkpatrick, American Methodist sacred composer, was born. He edited his first collection of hymns at age 21, and is still remembered today for composing the melodies to such hymns as: "He Hideth My Soul," "'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus," "Redeemed, How I Love to Proclaim It" and "Lord, I'm Coming Home."
