<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "You are the salt of the earth".

He promises me:
  "You are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost its savour, how shall it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be thrown out and trodden under foot". (Matt. 5:13)

My response to the word:
  When I think of salt, I think of its thirst-producing and flavour-enhancing qualities. I want to be like salt in that I want to make other people thirsty for Jesus, and I want to make life more tasty for others. Jesus calls me "the salt of the earth", and I will be careful to maintain the flavour of salt through His Word, prayer, Christian fellowship, and worship so that others will be able to "taste and see that the Lord is good".

My prayer:
  Dear Lord, I thank you for the personal affirmation you've given to me - that I am the salt of the earth. I will make every effort today to be a 'salty' Christian. Help me, Father, to be full of flavour, healing, and loving in all my relationships.

Today's scriptures:
 "Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the person who takes refuge in Him". (Ps. 34:8 GW) "Salt is good. But if salt loses its taste, how will you restore its flavour? Have salt within you, and live in peace with one another". (Mark 9:50 GW)

Quote for today:
The measure of a life, after all, is not its duration but its donation. (Corrie Ten Boom)
