<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I will not permit you to be tempted beyond your ability to endure".

He promises me:
  "There has not temptation come to you but is common to man; but God is faithful, and will not let you be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation make a way of escape, so that you can bear it". (1 Cor. 10:13)

My response to the word:
  When temptations come my way, my faithful Lord will be there to help see me through. He will not permit me to be tempted beyond my ability to endure. He will show me the way out of every temptation. Throughout this day I will be vigilant, and I will remember that temptation is not sin, but playing with temptation will lead me into sin. Therefore, I will resist all temptation with the power of the Word, the blood of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

My prayer:
  Lord, I thank you for your promise that you will not permit me to be tempted beyond my ability to endure. Through your power I will resist all temptations that come to me this day.

Today's scriptures:
 "If you live by your corrupt nature, you are going to die. But if you use your spiritual nature to put to death the evil activities of the body, you will live". (Rom. 8:13 GW) "Be very happy when you are tested in different ways. You know that such testing of your faith produces endurance. Endure until your testing is over. Then you will be mature and complete, and you won't need anything". (James 1:2-4 GW) "You are extremely happy about these things, even though you have to suffer different kinds of trouble for a little while now". (1 Peter 1:6 GW)

Quote for today:
Temptation can cause us to succumb, sink, sin, or stand. (William Ward)
