<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Wear the protective armour I've given to you".

He promises me:
  "Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil". (Eph. 6:11)

My response to the word:
  I will put on every piece of God's armour, and I will wear it throughout this day. I will fasten truth around my waist. The breastplate of righteousness will protect my chest and heart. On my feet I will wear the preparation of peace. I will use the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. I will protect my head and mind with the helmet of salvation, and I will wage my warfare with the sword of the Spirit (the Word of God). I will put on each piece of God's armour carefully, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. God will protect me.

My prayer:
  Lord God, thank you for the armour you've given to me to protect me from all evil. I will wear it confidently throughout this day.

Today's scriptures:
 "The Lord God is a sun and shield. The Lord grants favour and honour. He does not hold back any blessing from those who live innocently". (Ps. 84:11 GW) "We demonstrate that we are God's servants as we are praised and dishonoured, as we are slandered and honoured, and as we use what is right to attack what is wrong and to defend the truth". (2 Cor. 6:7,8 GW) "Put on all the armour that God supplies. In this way you can take a stand against the devil's strategies. This is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world. For this reason, take up all the armour that God supplies. Then you will be able to take a stand during these evil days". (Eph. 6:11-13 GW)

Quote for today:
Our weakness shall be our strength, for God shall make it to be the platform upon which the omnipotence of His grace shall be displayed. (Charles Spurgeon)

On this day:
On 18th March 1861, London's Metropolitan Tabernacle, the sanctuary of English Baptist preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon, opens. Spurgeon had insisted that the enormous building employ Greek architecture because the New Testament was written in Greek—a decision that influenced church architecture throughout the world
On 18th March 1968, Charles Fuller died in Pasadena, California, aged 80 years. He was one of the early American preachers to use radio to spread the Gospel, and conducted great outdoor rallies. He helped found the Fuller Theological Seminary.
