<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Faith is the victory that overcomes the world".

He promises me:
  "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith". (1 John 5:4)

My response to the word:
  Faith is a gift God has bestowed upon me as a part of my birthright as His child. Faith comes as I hear His Word and meditate on it. He has promised me that I will overcome the world as I walk in faith. Therefore, I choose to walk in faith throughout this day. Faith will help me to walk fearlessly, run confidently, and live victoriously throughout this day.

My prayer:
  Father, my faith is in you and your wonderful Word. I believe your Word. It renews my mind and fills me with faith. I claim your promise for today: that I will overcome the world. Thank you, Father.

Today's scriptures:
 "So faith comes from hearing the message, and the message that is heard is what Christ spoke". (Rom. 10:17 GW) "Pursue what God approves of: a godly life, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the Christian faith. Take hold of everlasting life to which you were called and about which you made a good testimony in front of many witnesses". (1 Tim. 6:11,12 GW) "Then, instead of being lazy, you will imitate those who are receiving the promises through faith and patience". (Heb. 6:12 GW)

Quote for today:
Faith is deliberate confidence in the character of God whose ways you may not understand at the time. (Oswald Chambers)

On this day:
On 19th March 1813, David Livingstone was born in Blantyre, near Glasgow. He was converted at 17 and soon after dedicated his life to Christian missions. In 1840 he was sent to Robert Moffat's mission in South Africa by the London Missionary Society. In 1845 he married Moffat's daughter Mary, and soon became more of an explorer than a missionary. He discovered Victoria Falls in 1855. He returned to Africa for the last time in 1865 and spent his last eight years of life there. His body was buried in Westminster Abbey, but his heart was buried in Africa.
