<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I will make your way prosperous".

He promises me:
  "This Book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success". (Josh 1:8)

My response to the word:
  The Word of God contains vital truths for my daily life. I will meditate upon the Scriptures throughout this day, and I will apply them to my life through faith and obedience. This will ensure that I will know prosperity, and it will grant me success. God tells me, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go".

My prayer:
  Lord God, I know you are with me each step of the way. I will walk in obedience to your Word today, and I know you will grant me prosperity, success, courage, and peace. Thank you, Father.

Today's scriptures:
 "I have commanded you, 'Be strong and courageous! Don't tremble or be terrified, because the Lord your God is with you wherever you go". (Josh. 1:9 GW) "Let those who are happy when I am declared innocent joyfully sing and rejoice. Let them continually say, 'The Lord is great". (Ps. 35:27 GW) "I alone have spoken. I have called him. I will bring him here, and he will succeed". (Isa. 48:15 GW)

Quote for today:
If we had not winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. (Anne Bradstreet)

On this day:
On 23rd March 1892, George Arthur Buttrick, English Presbyterian pastor and educator, was born. A teacher at both Union Theological Seminary and Harvard University, Buttrick is best remembered as chief editor of "The Interpreter's Bible" (1952-57).
