Today God says:
"I have chosen you".
He promises me:
"You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain". (John 15:16)
My response to the word:
I realize that I cannot take credit for choosing God. He chose me. He chose me and ordained me to become a fruitful Christian. His amazing grace saved me from my sins, and gave my life a totally new direction and purpose. I will bear His fruit today as I walk in the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against these there is no law".
My prayer:
Loving Lord, thank you for choosing me and equipping me to bear fruit for you. With your help, through the indwelling Spirit, I will be fruitful in everything I do this day. I will walk in the knowledge that you have chosen me for your important purposes.
Today's scriptures:
"He also called those whom He had already appointed. He approved those whom He had called, and He gave glory to those whom He had approved of". (Rom. 8:30 GW) "God also decided ahead of time to choose us through Christ according to His plan, which makes everything work the way He plans". (Eph. 1:11 GW)
Quote for today:
Jesus Christ came to help. He came to change our natures. He came to stop old habits of sin. He came to break them and to conquer them. (A W Tozer)
