<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit".

He promises me:
  "What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own? For you were bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's". (1 Cor. 6:19,20)

My response to the word:
  I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. I was redeemed by Jesus Christ who paid the price of His own life. I am no longer my own, but His. I have surrendered my right to self-interest, self-indulgence, self-aggrandizement, and all areas of selfishness that were a part of my life before He redeemed me. Throughout this day, therefore, I will glorify God in my body and spirit, fully realizing that they belong to God, not to me.

My prayer:
  Lord, thank you for redeeming me. Let the light of your Spirit radiate from my innermost being throughout this day.

Today's scriptures:
 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another helper who will be with you forever. That helper is the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it doesn't see or know Him. You know Him, because He lives with you and will be in you". (John 14:16,17 GW) "Brothers and sisters, because of God's compassion toward us, I encourage you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, dedicated to God and pleasing to Him". (Rom. 12:1 GW) "You were bought with a price. Don't become anyone's slaves". (1 Cor. 7:23 GW)

Quote for today:
The world has yet to see what God will do with a man who is fully and wholly consecrated to the Holy Spirit. (Henry Varley)

On this day:
On 30th October 1789, Hiram Bingham was born in Bennington, Vermont. After his Ordination, he was one of the first missionaries to Hawaii, then called the Sandwich Islands. He established mission stations and created a written language for the people. The entire Bible was completed in 1839. He returned to Connecticut in 1841 because of the health of his wife and served until his death in 1869.
