<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "All of My promises are yes and amen"

He promises me:
  "For all the promises of God to him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us" (2 Cor. 1:20)

My response to the word:
  God is the great promise-keeper, and He wants me to be a promise-reaper in His kingdom. Every word of the Bible is true, and it is "given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for all good works". Is a particular promise for me? In Christ the answer is yes and amen. Every promise in the Bible is mine.

My prayer:
  Thank you, Lord, for all the wonderful promises of your Word. I believe your Word, and I know your promises are for me,

Today's scriptures:
 "Every Scripture passage is inspired by God. All of them are useful for teaching, pointing out errors, correcting people, and training them for a life that has God's approval". (2 Tim. 3:16 GW) "Through faith they conquered kingdoms, did what God approved, and received what God had promised". (Hebr. 11:33 GW) "Through His glory and integrity He has given us His promises that are of the highest value". (2 Peter 1:4 GW)

Quote for today:
Our prayers build the kingdom of God and destroy the kingdom of Satan. But where there is no prayer, there is no warfare. Where there is no warfare, there is no spiritual reality. Where there is no spiritual reality, there is no victory. (Charles Stanley)

On this day:
On 31st August 651, Aidan of Lindisfarne died at Bamburgh, Northumbia. He was a Celtic monk who became the first bishop of Lindisfarne and was a missionary credited with restoring Christianity to Northumbria. Simple, humble and gentle, the crowds flocked to hear him.
On 31st August 1688, John Bunyan died. Preacher and writer, he was twice imprisoned for preaching as a Nonconformist. During his second time inside, he wrote Pilgrims Progress, his best known book.

"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
