<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "You are a new creation".

He promises me:
  "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away; behold all things are become new". ( 2 Cor. 5:17)

My response to the word:
  I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. I am born again by God's Spirit. Gone is the guilt of the past, and gone is the fear of the future. Truly, all things have become new in my life. Throughout this day, I will meditate upon the Word of God because I know that the knowledge, understanding, and appropriation of God's Word are the means by which I grow spiritually. I will walk in newness of life today.

My prayer:
  Father God, thank you for making me a new creation in Christ, my Lord. You have transformed me from the old ways of life into an entirely new creation. I am your child. It is exciting to walk with you.

Today's scriptures:
 "No one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above". (John 3:3 GW) "As Christ was brought back from death to life by the glorious power of the Father; so we, too, should live a new kind of life". (Rom. 6:4 GW) "You were also taught to become a new person created to be like God, truly righteous and holy". (Eph. 4:24 GW) "You have been born again, not from a seed that can be destroyed, but through God's everlasting Word that can't be destroyed". (1 Peter 1:24 GW)

Quote for today:
Salvation is bringing back to normal the Creator-creature relation. (A W Tozer)

On this day:
On 17th April 1920, Robert G. Bratcher, principal translator of the American Bible Society's 1966-1976 "Good News Bible" was born. This is also known as "Today's English Version".
On 17th April 1937, with Mussolini's troops occupying Ethiopia, Sudan Interior Mission missionaries who had started a small church among the previously devil-worshiping Wallamo tribe are forced to leave the country. "We knew God was faithful," one missionary wrote. "But still we wondered—if we ever come back, what will we find?" The missionaries returned in July 1943 to find that, despite severe persecution by Italian soldiers, the Christian community had grown from 48 members to 18,000.
