Today God says:
"Walk in the light".
He promises me:
"But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin". (1 John 1:7)
My response to the word:
I will walk in the light throughout this day. God is the light of my life. His Word is "a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path". I will let the light of His Word guide me throughout this day. The properties of light include healing, cleansing, warmth, energy, illumination, purification, and the eradication of darkness. I will let the light of God bring these qualities into my life today.
My prayer:
Father of lights, in whom there is no variableness or shadow of turning, I present my life to you this day. Thank you for your light which guides me, cleanses me, and dispels all darkness. I will walk in the sunlight of your Word and your love throughout this day.
Today's scriptures:
"Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path". (Ps. 119:105 GW) "Once you lived in the dark, but now the Lord has filled you with light. Live as children who have light". (Eph. 5:8 GW) "But if we live in the light in the same way that God is in the light, we have a relationship with each other. And the blood of His Son Jesus cleanses us from every sin". (1 John 1:7 GW) "Every good present and every perfect gift comes from above, from the Father who made the sun, moon, and stars. The Father doesn't change like the shifting shadows produced by the sun and the moon". (James 1:17 GW)
Quote for today:
The call of Jesus makes the disciple community not only the salt but also the light of the world; their activity is visible, as well as imperceptible. (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)
On this day:

On 26th April 1834, Horatio R. Palmer, American Congregational clergyman, was born. From his books of religious verse came two hymns which are still sung today: "Jesus, Thou Joy of Loving Hearts" and "My Faith Looks Up to Thee."
