Today God says:
"I am for you; therefore, nothing can be against you".
He promises me:
"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?". (Rom. 8:31)
My response to the word:
God is for me. Because this is true, nothing that is against me can touch me throughout this day. I know God is for me; His Word declares His faithfulness to me on nearly every page. As someone has said, "God is not only a present help in time of trouble, but also a great help in keeping us out of trouble". God is for me, and I will be for Him throughout this day.
My prayer:
Lord, thank you for being for me, and for your promise that because you are for me, nothing shall be able to be against me. I claim this promise by faith for my life today.

On 22nd May 1868, William Reed Newell, pastor and devotional writer, was born in Savannah, Ohio. In 1895, Dwight. L. Moody invited him to join the faculty of the Moody Bible Institute under Dr. R. A. Torrey. In this position Newell demonstrated his extraordinary gift of Bible exposition. Great audiences flocked to attend his weekly city-wide, interdenominational Bible classes. This led to the publication of his well-known commentaries, especially Romans, Verse-By-Verse; Hebrews, Verse-By-Verse; and The Book of The Revelation.
