Today God says:
"Be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus".
He promises me:
"You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus". (2 Tim. 2:1)
My response to the word:
In writing these words of spiritual direction to young Timothy, the Apostle Paul is preparing him for what he knows will come. He goes on, "And the things you have heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others. You endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ". I will remember these important words throughout this day as I endeavour, with God's help, to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
My prayer:
Lord, thank you for the grace which is in Christ Jesus, a grace that enables me to endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. Thank you for His strength which helps me to face every challenge. I will walk in His grace throughout this day.
Today's scriptures:
"God saved you through faith as an act of kindness. You had nothing to do with it. Being saved is a gift of God". (Eph. 2:8 GW) "You've heard my message, and its been confirmed by many witnesses. Entrust this message to faithful individuals who will be competent to teach others". (2 Tim. 2:2 GW)
Quote for today:
The stops of a good man are ordered by the Lord as well as his steps. (George Muller)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
