<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfil the lust of the flesh".

He promises me:
  "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfil the lust of the flesh". (Gal. 5:16)

My response to the word:
  Though the lusts of the flesh are a given part of the human condition, I do not have to give in to them because God has provided a higher dimension of living. I will walk in His Spirit throughout this day, and this will keep me from fulfilling the lusts of the flesh. I will bear the fruit of the Spirit in all the relationships and responsibilities of my life this day. "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law".

My prayer:
  Heavenly Father, continuously fill me with your Spirit today so that I will be able to walk in your Spirit at all times. I want others to see the fruit of your Spirit in my life so that they will want to taste and see your goodness.

Today's scriptures:
 "However, the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything. He will remind you of everything that I have ever told you". (John 14:26 GW) "Certainly, all who are guided by God's Spirit are God's children". (Rom. 8:14 GW) "The One who loves us gives us an overwhelming victory in all these difficulties". (Rom. 8:37 GW)

Quote for today:
Love does not behave in a discourteous manner. Greed does; selfishness does; fear does - but not love. (George Sweeting)

On this day:
On 16th June 1855, William Booth and Catherine Mumford were married. Edward Rabbits, a businessman, knew both families and invited the couple to a meeting on Good Friday. Afterward he encouraged William to escort Catherine home. Romance flourished. William preached at a revival meeting on their honeymoon. The Salvation Army was about to be born.
