Today God says:
"Bear the burdens of others, and fulfil the law of Christ".
He promises me:
"Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ". (Gal. 6:2)
My response to the word:
Paul wrote, "Brethren, if a man is overtaken in a fault, you who are spiritual, restore them in the spirit of meekness, considering yourself lest you are tempted". This admonition is one aspect of helping others to bear their burdens. I will take every opportunity to help others throughout this day, realizing that in so doing I am fulfilling Christ's law which is love. I will walk in love today.
My prayer:
Lord God, thank you for each opportunity that comes my way to help others. I realize that when I help someone else I am serving you. Help me to fulfil the law of Christ today.
Today's scriptures:
"So those of us who have a strong faith must be patient with the weaknesses of those whose faith is not so strong. We must not think only of ourselves". (Rom. 15:1 GW) "Brothers and sisters, if a person gets trapped by wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should help that person turn away from their wrongdoing. Do it in a gentle way. At the same time watch yourself so that you also are not tempted". (Gal. 6:1 GW)
Quote for today:
One of the greatest gifts you can give to another person is the Gift of Encouragement. (Rich DeVos)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
