Today God says:
"Let Christ dwell in your heart by faith".
He promises me:
"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height, and to know the love of God which passes knowledge.
My response to the word:
These verses are a stunning revelation of what God wants me to experience. He wants me to let Christ dwell in my heart by faith so that I will be rooted and grounded in love - the love of Christ that goes beyond human understanding. This is what I want as well. I will walk in faith and love throughout this day, realizing that in Christ the only thing that avails anything is faith which works by love.
My prayer:
Lord God, thank you for your amazing love. Let my roots grow deep in the soil of your love, drinking freely from all you have in store for me. I love you, Father; grant that I may know the love of Christ more fully.
Today's scriptures:
"I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live I live by believing in God's Son, who loved me and took the punishment for my sins". (Gal. 2:20 GW) "What matters is a faith that expresses itself through love". (Gal. 5:6 GW) "God wanted His people throughout the world to know the glorious riches of this mystery - which is Christ living in you, giving you the hope of glory". (Col. 1:27 GW)
Quote for today:
The man or woman who is wholly or joyously surrendered to Christ can't make a wrong choice - any choice will be the right one. (A W Tozer)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".

On 24th June 1485, Johannes Bugenhagen was born in the Wollin Islands, Germany. Ordained a priest at age 24, he determined to reform the church after reading works of Erasmus. Realizing the futility of attempting drastic change from within, he joined with Martin Luther and became one of his staunchest allies. Bugenhagen supported Luther in translating the Bible into High German. Bugenhagen published his own translation of the scriptures into Low German in 1533. He also organized Lutheran churches in northern Germany and Denmark.
