Today God says:
"You are a member of the Body of Christ".
He promises me:
"For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones". (Eph. 5:30)
My response to the word:
The sacred mystery of actually being a part of Christ goes beyond my ability to understand, but I do know that I am a member of His body, His flesh, and His bones. Paul wrote, "This is a great mystery; but I speak concerning Christ and His church". Christ is the head of the Body; I am a member of the Body. I am miraculously joined to Him and to every other member of the Body. What a privilege; what a blessing!.
My prayer:
Lord, thank you for letting me be a part of your glorious Body. Help me to be a member that enhances the health and harmony of your entire Body.
Today's scriptures:
"You are Christ's body and each of you is an individual part of it. In the church God has appointed first apostles, next prophets, third teachers, then those who perform miracles, then those who have the gift of healing, then those who help others, those who are managers, and those who can speak in a number of languages". (1 Cor. 12:27,28 GW)
Quote for today:
In the Church of God two opposite dangers are to be recognized and avoided; they are a cold heart and a hot head. (A W Tozer)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
