Today God says:
"I have made Jesus Christ to be sin for you so that you could become My righteousness.
He promises me:
"For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him". (2 Cor. 5:21)
My response to the word:
What amazing statements are revealed in this passage. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was totally without sin, became sin on the cross of Calvary. He took all of my sin upon Him. Because He willingly did this, I am now clothed in God's righteousness. The righteousness of Christ has been imparted to me. What a staggering thought this is - Christ knew no sin, but He became sin for me. I have no righteousness within myself, but because of Jesus' death, I have been made the righteousness of God in Him. I will walk in God's righteousness throughout this day.
My prayer:
Thank you, Lord, for sending Jesus Christ to die for my sins so that His righteousness could be imparted to me. Help me to walk in the righteousness of Christ throughout this day.
Today's scriptures:
"Search for the Lord, all you humble people in the land who carry out His justice. Search for what is right. Search for humility. Maybe you will find shelter on the day of the Lord's anger". (Zeph. 2:3 GW) "The life I now live I live by believing in God's Son, who loved me and took the punishment for my sins". (Gal. 2:20 GW) "Finally, receive your power from the Lord and from His mighty strength". (Eph. 6:10 GW)
Quote for today:
To be forgiven, a sin must be forsaken. (A W Tozer)
