Today God says:
"Follow Me"
He promises me:
"And be kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you" (Eph. 4:32)
My response to the word:
In order to be a true follower of God, Paul points out, I must learn to "walk in love, as Christ also has loved us". I will walk in love today as I seek to be a follower of the Lord. Jesus calls me to follow Him, and I deeply desire to walk in His footsteps each moment of the day. Where He leads me I will follow.
My prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank you for calling me to the wonderful life in Christ. Lead me, and I will follow you.
Today's scriptures:
"Then Jesus called the crowd to Himself along with His disciples. He said to them, 'Those who want to follow Me must say no to the things they want, pick up their crosses, and follow Me.' (Mark 8:34 GW) "After that, Jesus left. He saw a tax collector named Levi sitting in a tax office. Jesus said to him, "Follow Me". So Levi got up, left everything and followed Him. (Luke 5:27 GW) "Imitate God, since you are the children He loves. Live in love as Christ also loved us. He gave His life for us as an offering and sacrifice, a soothing aroma to God." (Eph. 5:1-2 GW)
Quote for today:
It is difficult to steer a parked car, so get moving. (Henrietta Mears)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".

On 1st July 1899, three Christian salesmen, John Nicholson, Samuel Hill and William Knights met to set up an Association of Christian Salesmen to mobilize Christian travellers for encouragement, evangelism and service. They decided to name their organisation after the Old Testament character, Gideon. The question arose of how they could be witnesses in the many hotels they visited, and they decided to encourage every hotel to furnish a Bible for its patrons. The first distribution occurred at the Superior Hotel in Iron Mountain, Montana in 1908. Since then millions of copies of Scriptures have been distributed in over 170 countries.
