<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Press toward the mark for the prize of My high calling"

He promises me:
  "Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus". (Phil. 3:13-14)

My response to the word:
  God has called me to fulfil His purposes for my life. Therefore, I will press on toward the mark for the prize of His high calling. I choose to forget the negative experiences of the past and to reach for all God has for me. I will live each moment with God, and I know the future will hold good things for me.

My prayer:
  Lord, thank you for calling me and for enabling me to forget the mistakes of the past. With your help I will reach out for all you have for me.

Today's scriptures:
 "You will know the confidence that He calls you to have and the glorious wealth that God's people will inherit". (Eph. 1:18 GW) "There is one body and one Spirit. In the same way you were called to share one hope". (Eph. 4:4 GW)

Quote for today:
When it's a question of God's almighty Spirit, never say 'I can't'. (Oswald Chambers)

On this day:
On 10th July 1509, John Calvin, French religious reformer, was born in Noyon, France. He organised churches in Strasburg and Geneva and developed a model for Church government. His 'Institutes of the Christian Religion' became the most popular doctrinal statement of the Protestant Reformation. He died in Geneva in 1564.
