<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Rejoice in Me always".

He promises me:
  "Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice". (Phil. 4:4)

My response to the word:
  Throughout this day I will remember that my thankfulness should result from what I have in my heart, not just what I have in my pocket or in the bank. I will rejoice in the Lord always, and I will keep on rejoicing because I realize that He gives me so much for which I am truly thankful. He loves me, saves me, fills me, heals me, prospers me, and blesses me.

My prayer:
  Lord, I rejoice in you. I praise you, thank you, honour you, and adore you. Thank you for being everything to me.

Today's scriptures:
 "Now then, brothers and sisters, be joyful in the Lord". (Phil. 3:1 GW) "Always be joyful". (1 Thess. 5:16 GW) "Although you have never seen Christ, you love Him. You are extremely happy with joy and praise that can hardly be expressed in words". (1 Peter 1:8 GW)

Quote for today:
Joy is the most infallible sign of the presence of God. (Leon Bloy)

On this day:
On 11th July 1924, Eric Liddell won the 400 metres gold medal at the Olympics in Paris. He had refused to run the 100 metres for Britain as the heats were to be held on a Sunday. His story was told in the film Chariots of Fire. He went to China in 1925 as a missionary and died there in a Japanese internment camp in 1945.
