<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Without faith it is impossible to please Me"

He promises me:
  "But without faith is it impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him". (Hebr. 11:6)

My response to the word:
  I choose to believe God and His Word because I know that this will please Him. I realize that God doesn't call me to be successful; He calls me to be faithful. The literal meaning of 'faithful' is 'full of faith'. I will be a full-of-faith believer throughout this day.

My prayer:
  Father in heaven, thank you for rewarding my faith. I always want to please you. Continue to build faith in my heart as I meditate upon your Word.

Today's scriptures:
 "I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live I live by believing in God's Son, who loved me and took the punishment for my sins". (Gal. 2:20 GW) "No one receives God's approval by obeying the laws standards since, "The person who has God's approval will live because of faith". (Gal. 3:11 GW) "What matters is a faith that expresses itself through love". (Gal. 5:6 GW)

Quote for today:
Faith is a reasoning trust, a trust which reckons thoughtfully and confidently upon the trustworthiness of God. (John Stott)

On this day:
On 21st July 1773, Howell Harris died aged 59 years in Talgarth, Brecon. A great evangelist, he had established Methodism in Wales. He was one of the main leaders of the Welsh Methodist revival in the 18th century, along with Daniel Rowland and William Williams Pantycelyn.
