Today God says:
"Honour Me with your substance"
He promises me:
"Honour the Lord with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase: So shall your barns be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst out with new wine". (Prov. 3:9-10)
My response to the word:
God has given so much to me. I am so happy to be able to give it back to Him, and as I do so I realize that He will have further blessings in store for me. I make a living by what I get, but I make my life by what I give. Throughout this day, therefore, I will take every opportunity to give.
My prayer:
Father, you loved the world so much that you gave your only begotten Son. This is love's prerogative - to give and give and give - and this will be my lifestyle today.
Today's scriptures:
"Give to everyone who asks you for something. If someone takes what is yours, don't insist on getting it back". (Luke 6:30 GW) "So finish what you began to do. Then your willingness will be matched by what you accomplish with whatever contributions you have". (2 Cor. 8:11-12 GW) "I have given you an example that by working hard like this we should help the weak. We should remember the words that the Lord Jesus said, 'Giving gifts is more satisfying than receiving them". (Acts 20:35 GW)
Quote for today:
Money can be a good servant, but is always a poor master. (Unknown)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
