Today God says:
"When you do good deeds in secret I will reward you".
He promises me:
"When you give to the poor, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your contributions privately. Your Father sees what you do in private. He will reward you". (Matt. 6:3,4 GW)
My response to the word:
Goodness does not necessarily consist in the outward things I do, but in the inwards things I am. I want to walk in honesty, openness, and integrity throughout this day. I will take every opportunity to give and to do good to others. As I do, I will remember that God is watching me, and this knowledge alone is a great reward.
My prayer:
Father, thank you for watching over me. I am greatly blessed by your promise to reward me.
Today's scriptures:
"Always excel in the work you do for the Lord. You know that the hard work you do for the Lord is not pointless". (1 Cor. 15:58 GW) "We can't allow ourselves to get tired of living the right way. Certainly, each of us will receive everlasting life at the proper time, if we don't give up". (Gal.6:9 GW) "Brothers and sisters, we can't allow ourselves to get tired of doing what is right". (2 Thess. 3:13 GW)
Quote for today:
Many people mistake our work for our vocation. Our vocation is the love of Jesus. (Mother Teresa)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".
