<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "You are My friend if you do whatever I command you to do"

He promises me:
  "You are my friends if you do whatsoever I command you" (John 15:14)

My response to the word:
  It stuns me to think that God wants to be my friend. I realize that friendship with God is a relationship that entails a deeper commitment and greater responsibility that most friendships. Jesus said, "I do not call you servants, for the servant does not know what his Lord does; but I have called you friends".

My prayer:
  Lord, thank you for calling me to be your friend. I want always to walk with you, in close friendship with you.

Today's scriptures:
 "A friend always loves, and a brother is born to share trouble". (Prov. 17:17 GW) "The greatest love you can show is to give your life for your friends" (John 15:13 GW)

Quote for today:
I find that doing the will of God leaves me no time for disputing about His plans. (George MacDonald)
