<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I am the Father of mercies"

He promises me:
  "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort" (2 Cor. 1:3)

My response to the word:
  My Father is the Father of my Lord Jesus Christ, and He is the Father of mercies. He is also the God of all comfort in my life. I bless the Lord for His mercies and comfort in my life. I respond to His mercies by giving all that I am and hope to be to Him.

My prayer:
  Father of mercies and God of all comfort, I give myself to you. Thank you for your mercy and comfort in my life.

Today's scriptures:
 "The reason I can still find hope is that I keep this one thing in mind: the Lord's mercy. We were not completely wiped out. His compassion is never limited". (Lam. 3:21,22 GW) "Brothers and sisters, because of God's compassion toward us, I encourage you to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, dedicated to God and pleasing to Him". (Rom 12:1 GW) "As holy people whom God has chosen and loved, be sympathetic, kind, humble, gentle and patient". (Col. 3:12 GW)

Quote for today:
He will not allow His mercies to become veils to hide His face, but He makes them windows through which He looks upon us. (Charles Spurgeon)

On this day:
On 29th August 1792, Charles G. Finney, American revivalist and educator, was born. Originally trained in law, he was converted to Christian faith at age 29, conducted revival services for eight years and, from 1835 until his death in 1875, maintained a close affiliation with Oberlin College in Ohio. Many of his books are still in print.
