<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "I love all those who love Me"

He promises me:
  "I love those who love Me; and those that seek me early shall find Me" (Prov. 8:17)

My response to the word:
  I love the Lord, and I know He loves me. His lovingkindness is better than life to me. I will walk in the knowledge of His love throughout this day. The sunlight of God's love will kill all the germs of jealousy, hate, and sin in my life.

My prayer:
  Thank you for loving me, Father. I want to learn how to love you with all my heart, mind, soul and strength.

Today's scriptures:
 "My lips will praise you because your mercy is better than life itself". (Ps.63:3 GW) "Jesus answered him, 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself". (Matt. 22:37-39 GW) "God loves the world this way: He gave His only Son so that everyone who believes in Him will not die but will have eternal life". (John 3:16 GW)

Quote for today:
God never changes moods or cools off in His affections or loses enthusiasm. (A W Tozer)

On this day:
On 6th August 1651, Francois Fenelon, French priest and scholar was born. His 1697 writing, "Christian Perfection," provided a reasoned defense of mystical spirituality, though it afterward brought him into disfavour with the Pope. Some of his writings are still in print after over 400 years.
On 6th August 1907, William George Lawes died in Sydney, Australia at the age of 68 years. Born in Aldermaston, Berkshire, in 1839, he first went to Savage Island (Niue) with London Misionary Society and translated the New Testament into the Niue language. He then moved to Port Moresby, New Guinea in 1874 where he reduced the Moru language to writing and produced a New Testament. He retired to Sydney in 1906.
