<Yesterday    Tomorrow>

Today God says:
 "Those who seek Me early will find Me"

He promises me:
  "I love those who love Me; and those that seek me early shall find Me" (Prov. 8:17)

My response to the word:
  At the beginning of each day I will seek the Lord, and throughout this day I will obey Jesus who said, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you". I will put God and His Word first in my life all day long.

My prayer:
  Heavenly Father, thank you for your promise which declares that I will find you if I will seek you early. Draw me to you throughout this day.

Today's scriptures:
 "But first, be concerned about His kingdom and what has His approval. Then all these things will be provided for you". (Matt. 6:33 GW) "Ask and you will receive. Search and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened for you". (Matt. 7:7 GW) "In fact, He is never far from any of us" (Acts 17:27 GW)

Quote for today:
To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing. (Martin Luther)

On this day:
On 7th August 1771, Francis Asbury answers John Wesley's call for volunteers to go to America as missionaries; he would become the father of American Methodism. Born near Birmingham, England in 1745, he was from a strong Methodist family. Francis Asbury was one of the first two bishops of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the United States. During his 45 years in the colonies and the newly independent United States, he devoted his life to ministry, travelling on horseback and by carriage thousands of miles to those living on the frontier. He died in Virginia in 1816 at age 70 years.
