Today God says:
"All My words are pure"
He promises me:
"Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to them that put their trust in Him". (Prov. 30:5)
My response to the word:
God's Word is pure truth. It reveals to me that God is my shield. The Bible says, "As for the Lord, His way is perfect: the Word of the Lord is tried: He is a buckler to all who trust in Him". I believe that God is my shield. I know that His Word has been proven to be true. Therefore, I will walk in the pure light of His Word throughout this day.
My prayer:
Lord, I love your Word. Thank you for the purity it brings into my heart and life. I will walk in its purity throughout this day.
Today's scriptures:
"God's way is perfect. The promise of the Lord has proven to be true. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in Him". (Ps. 18:30 GW) "Your promise has been thoroughly tested, and I love it". (Ps. 119:140 GW) "God's Word is living and active". (Hebr. 4:12 GW)
Quote for today:
Unless we have a deep awe of the Word we shall never have high joy over it. Our rejoicing will be measured by our reverencing. (Charles Spurgeon)
On this day:
"Scriptures are taken from the King James Bible or those marked (GW) are from the God's Word Translation, used with permission".

On 20th September 1921, William Kirkpatrick was found dead in his study, slumped over a piece of music. Born in Duncannon, Pennsylvania in 1838, William learned to play musical instruments at an early age and received formal training. He published his first hymn collection at age 21, but although he issued around fifty books of music in his life, he often found it necessary to support himself with carpentry or furniture making. William wrote the tunes to many favorite hymns: "We Have Heard the Joyful Sound," "'Tis Sweet to Trust in Jesus," "Redeemed, How I Love to Proclaim It," and "He Hideth My Soul." He wrote both the words and the music to the song "Lord, I'm Coming Home."
